Hi, I’m Louise

I’m a Registered Nutritional Therapist, Health Coach and women’s hormone specialist. I help women struggling with midlife hormone havoc to regain control of their hormones and rediscover their spark.

I want every woman to know you don’t have to put up with out of whack hormones wreaking havoc with your body and mind just because you’re in your 40’s.

Yes, the rules change as you get older and you may not be able to get away with everything you used to, but there are things you can do to make you the boss of your hormones and it doesn’t involve going on a restrictive diet and depriving yourself! In fact, you need quite the opposite.

In a previous life I was a corporate girl working in HR. No longer motivated by climbing the corporate ladder and inspired by a growing awareness and passion for how what we eat impacts our health, I retrained as a Nutritional Therapist.

It was not easy…

I’d worked full-time and studied when I was in my 20’s and still managed to be out burning the candle at both ends with no effect. This time around, now I was in my 40’s, it had a huge impact on my health. My stress levels were through the roof, I wasn’t prioritising my sleep, I was (ironically!) making poor food choices and my motivation for exercise had gone out the window. I just wasn’t covering the basics and my mood and energy levels suffered a lot. It was hard to enjoy life from a state of constant overwhelm and exhaustion, and though I felt pretty disconnected and wanted to be going out with friends and enjoying myself, what I wanted more was to curl up on the sofa.

Luckily, I’d learnt a thing or two through my studies and with my knowledge and targeted testing I was able to identify hormone imbalances, in particular with my stress and thyroid hormones, as well as nutrient deficiencies. It was no wonder I wasn’t feeling my best! This gave me the wake up call I needed to make some changes. It also made me realise that there must be lots of women out there who are spinning so many plates and always putting themselves to the bottom of the list. They may have been able to get away with this in their 20’s and 30’s but now they’re in their 40’s, with the inevitable onset of perimenopause thrown into the mix, they feel like they’re failing on all fronts and they don’t know why.

It’s these women I now work with. Women who, just like you, don’t want to tolerate not feeling their best anymore.

I can’t give you a magic pill. What I can do is help you understand what’s going on in your body at a biochemical level (that’s the sciencey bit) and how this, along with your food and lifestyle choices may all be conspiring against you to cause your symptoms. Understanding all these elements puts you in the driving seat and tackling all of them together can get you the results you deserve to feel like yourself again.

My Approach

As well as the nutrition science part of helping my clients gain a better understanding of how their body works and the best food to fuel themselves, I also coach and motivate my clients to create and follow a plan and keep them accountable for achieving it. My philosophy is underpinned by the following principles…

Balance

No one can or should be perfect 100% of the time. Where’s the fun in that?! Life is for living after all. The key is finding that balance where you can enjoy the things you love, guilt-free, whilst still nourishing your body and feeling your best. 80:20 all the way!

Inclusion over exclusion

Yes, I will help you to understand areas of your diet and lifestyle that may not be serving you but rather than focusing on the ‘bad’ things to take out, I prefer to focus on all the ‘good’ things you can add in. Living a healthy lifestyle does not mean depriving yourself.

Personalised approach

You are unique, and programmes are tailored to you as an individual. The plan has to be YOURS or it won’t work. I just help you figure out what matters most to you, how you’re going to get there and support you every step of the way to implement sustainable, effective changes.

No sticky plasters

I aim to help you get to the root cause of your health concerns so you can achieve sustainable results, rather than simply sticking a plaster over the symptoms for short-term relief. This is why I often recommend targeted testing to remove the guess work and help you get results quicker.

Holistic Approach

Food is just one factor affecting your health and wellbeing. I help you explore all areas of your lifestyle to identify where small changes can have a big impact on how you feel. From stress and sleep to exercise and even the skin care products you use. I won’t leave any stone unturned.
